Programme Summary
Improve maintenance execution by converting work requests into clear, resourced and achievable job plans. Participants prioritise backlog, define work scope, prepare materials and estimate labour before building a coordinated schedule. Practical exercises connect planning quality, equipment access and completion feedback, helping maintenance and operations teams reduce avoidable delays and strengthen the reliability of their work-management process.
Training Objectives
1 Clarify planning scheduling and execution responsibilities; 2 Prioritise maintenance work using operational risk; 3 Develop complete and realistic job packages; 4 Balance available resources and equipment access; 5 Use completion feedback to improve future work.
Learning Outcomes
1 Screen and prioritise a maintenance backlog; 2 Prepare a job plan with resource requirements; 3 Construct a feasible weekly maintenance schedule; 4 Identify work-readiness and coordination constraints; 5 Interpret schedule performance and improvement actions.
Target Audience
Maintenance Planners; Maintenance Schedulers; Maintenance Supervisors; Maintenance Engineers; Operations Supervisors; CMMS Coordinators.
Target Industries
Manufacturing; Oil and Gas; Power and Water Utilities; Mining; Food Processing; Facilities Management.
Course Contents
- Module 1 The Maintenance Work Management Process: Planning scheduling and supervision interfaces; Work request approval and execution stages; Roles communication and operating priorities.
- Module 2 Work Identification and Prioritisation: Clear defect descriptions and work scope; Asset criticality urgency and risk considerations; Emergency work and backlog prioritisation.
- Module 3 Building Effective Job Plans: Task sequence methods and quality requirements; Labour skill estimates tools and materials; Permits isolation and specialist support interfaces.
- Module 4 Materials and Work Readiness: Spare-parts identification and availability checks; Job kits contractor requirements and lead times; Readiness gates and constraint removal.
- Module 5 Scheduling and Resource Coordination: Available capacity and realistic work loading; Equipment access and operational commitments; Frozen schedules break-in work and escalation.
- Module 6 Executing and Closing Work Orders: Supervisor briefings and work coordination; Actual effort findings and failure information; Restoration checks and completion evidence.
- Module 7 Performance Measures and Feedback: Planned work backlog age and schedule measures; Rework delays and variance interpretation; Job-plan improvements and accountable follow-up.
- Module 8 Applied Planning and Scheduling Workshop: Complete a supplied maintenance job package; Build a resource-balanced weekly schedule; Defend priorities and manage a simulated disruption.
Assessment
- 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Supplied job-plan templates, case records and calculator permitted; internet, messaging and AI tools prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Prepare a job package from a supplied maintenance request and place it in a weekly schedule. Show labour, materials, access and safety interfaces, then revise the schedule for one urgent breakdown while explaining the impact on agreed priorities.
- Assessment criteria: Complete job scope resources and work-readiness controls; Feasible scheduling against capacity and equipment access; Clear prioritisation and use of completion feedback.
- Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records assessed maintenance planning and scheduling skills; professional registration and employer appointment remain separate.
- Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
