Programme Summary
Understand how business activities depend on nature and contribute to pressures on ecosystems. Participants locate sensitive operational and supply chain interfaces, distinguish dependencies from impacts and evaluate resulting risks and opportunities. A practical case develops proportionate priorities, evidence needs and mitigation actions, helping teams engage specialists and communicate progress without overstating biodiversity outcomes or treating unrelated habitat changes as interchangeable.
Training Objectives
1 Connect business activities with ecosystem dependencies; 2 Distinguish nature impacts from business risk consequences; 3 Strengthen location specific screening and evidence review; 4 Apply mitigation priorities with realistic ecological limits; 5 Develop accountable nature related action and monitoring.
Learning Outcomes
1 Map operational and supply chain nature interfaces; 2 Distinguish dependencies impacts risks and opportunities; 3 Identify sensitive locations and specialist evidence gaps; 4 Prioritise avoidance and other appropriate mitigation actions; 5 Prepare a nature action and monitoring proposal.
Target Audience
Sustainability Managers; Environmental Managers; Procurement Managers; Project Development Managers; Risk Analysts; Land Management Coordinators.
Target Industries
Agriculture and Food; Mining and Quarrying; Infrastructure Development; Real Estate Development; Forestry Products; Energy Projects.

- Module 6 Mitigation Hierarchy and Ecological Limits: Avoidance minimisation restoration and residual impacts; Offset feasibility additionality and lasting outcomes; Irreplaceable features and unacceptable impact boundaries.
- Module 7 Actions Metrics and Responsible Communication: Accountable measures suppliers and implementation resources; Activity pressure condition and outcome indicators; Avoiding unsupported nature positive and equivalence claims.
- Module 8 Business Nature Assessment Case: Prioritising a fictional business location portfolio; Developing evidence needs and mitigation actions; Presenting monitoring responsibilities and ecological limitations.
Assessment
- 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Supplied reference pack and calculator permitted; external internet and AI prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Review a fictional business footprint, prioritise two nature interfaces, map dependencies and impacts, and propose mitigation actions with specialist evidence needs and meaningful monitoring indicators.
- Assessment criteria: Accurate dependency impact and location analysis; Appropriate mitigation with recognised ecological limits; Relevant evidence indicators and accountable actions.
- Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- All mandatory criteria must pass: Do not use unsupported offset claims to justify avoidable damage to sensitive habitats.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records nature related business risk learning; it does not establish ecological survey competence, approve biodiversity offsets or certify nature positive outcomes.
- Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
