Programme Summary

Identify and evaluate practical energy efficiency opportunities using operational evidence. Participants analyse consumption patterns, distinguish power from energy, examine significant systems and estimate potential savings against a defensible baseline. A structured facility case connects technical options with operating conditions, implementation costs and measurement plans, helping teams prepare credible improvement proposals and recognise where detailed engineering assessment is required.

02

Training Objectives

1 Develop disciplined energy opportunity assessment practices; 2 Connect consumption patterns with operating drivers; 3 Identify practical system and control improvements; 4 Improve savings estimates and investment comparisons; 5 Plan implementation measurement and performance review.

03

Learning Outcomes

1 Interpret energy profiles and operational drivers; 2 Define an assessment boundary and baseline; 3 Identify relevant equipment and operating improvements; 4 Estimate savings with explicit assumptions and costs; 5 Prepare an opportunity register and measurement plan.

04

Target Audience

Energy Coordinators; Facilities Engineers; Maintenance Engineers; Utilities Engineers; Operations Managers; Sustainability Analysts.

05

Target Industries

Manufacturing; Commercial Buildings; Hospitality; Food Processing; Warehousing; Water Utilities.

Course Contents

  • Module 1 Assessment Scope and Energy Fundamentals: Energy power efficiency and demand distinctions; System boundaries objectives and competence needs; Planning data collection and safe observations.
  • Module 2 Consumption Profiles and Operating Drivers: Bills interval data and equipment schedules; Production weather occupancy and load variation; Separating baseload process demand and anomalies.
  • Module 3 Baselines and Data Quality: Representative periods and relevant operating variables; Normalisation assumptions and comparison limitations; Meter coverage units and calculation checks.
  • Module 4 Identifying Operational Improvement Opportunities: Scheduling setpoints sequencing and shutdown discipline; Maintenance leaks insulation and avoidable losses; Engaging operators and recording supporting evidence.
  • Module 5 System Efficiency Options and Tradeoffs: Motors pumping compressed air and ventilation; Heating cooling lighting and heat recovery; Safety quality comfort and system interactions.
  • Module 6 Estimating Savings and Business Value: Engineering assumptions operating hours and efficiency; Energy tariff and lifecycle cost calculations; Avoiding overlapping savings and unsupported precision.
  • Module 7 Implementation and Measurement Planning: Priorities owners dependencies and commissioning evidence; Baseline adjustments and post implementation measurement; Reviewing persistence rebound and unintended consequences.
  • Module 8 Energy Opportunity Assessment Case: Building a prioritised facility opportunity register; Checking savings assumptions and investment suitability; Presenting an evidence based measurement plan.
07

Assessment

  • 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
  • 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
  • Supplied reference pack and calculator permitted; external internet and AI prohibited.
  • Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Analyse supplied facility energy data, estimate savings and simple payback for two measures, identify an interaction risk and prepare a prioritised opportunity register with a measurement plan.
  • Assessment criteria: Accurate energy baseline and unit interpretation; Defensible savings costs and interaction assumptions; Feasible priorities and measurement evidence.
  • Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
  • Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
08

Certification

  • Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
  • The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
  • Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
  • Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
  • Records energy opportunity assessment learning; it does not authorise electrical work, certify energy savings or replace detailed engineering design.
  • Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
