Programme Summary
Turn environmental aspects assessment into a consistent basis for operational decisions. Participants map activities and lifecycle interfaces, distinguish causes from environmental consequences, and evaluate significance using transparent criteria. Practical exercises address routine operations, changes and credible emergencies, producing a focused aspects register that links priorities with responsibilities, controls and evidence for periodic review.
Training Objectives
1 Clarify environmental aspects and impact relationships; 2 Strengthen systematic activity and lifecycle mapping; 3 Develop consistent environmental significance criteria; 4 Connect significant aspects with operational controls; 5 Improve assessment review and change management.
Learning Outcomes
1 Map activities to environmental impact pathways; 2 Distinguish aspects from resulting environmental impacts; 3 Apply and justify defined significance criteria; 4 Create a linked aspects and controls register; 5 Specify assessment review triggers and ownership.
Target Audience
Environmental Officers; HSE Coordinators; Process Engineers; Facilities Supervisors; Operations Managers; Sustainability Coordinators.
Target Industries
Manufacturing; Construction; Logistics; Food Processing; Utilities; Hospitality.
Course Contents
- Module 1 Scope and Assessment Foundations: Activities products services and boundaries; Aspect impact and receptor distinctions; Direct influence and lifecycle interfaces.
- Module 2 Mapping Activities and Material Flows: Inputs outputs and process interactions; Site surveys interviews and record sources; Outsourced activities and supplier interfaces.
- Module 3 Identifying Aspects and Impact Pathways: Air water land and resource effects; Normal abnormal and emergency conditions; Past activities and planned operational changes.
- Module 4 Designing Significance Criteria: Magnitude severity duration and reversibility; Likelihood frequency and receptor sensitivity; Obligations and stakeholder concern considerations.
- Module 5 Applying Consistent Significance Decisions: Transparent scoring and documented assumptions; Separate control status from inherent effects; Testing rankings and resolving inconsistent judgements.
- Module 6 Linking Priorities to Operational Controls: Prevention controls and accountable responsibilities; Monitoring indicators and evidence requirements; Emergency arrangements and escalation thresholds.
- Module 7 Maintaining the Aspects Register: Register structure and evidence traceability; Change triggers and periodic review; Communicating significant aspects to relevant teams.
- Module 8 Practical Aspects Assessment Workshop: Assessing a supplied facility process; Defending significance and control priorities; Reviewing limitations and follow up needs.
Assessment
- 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Supplied reference pack and calculator permitted; external internet and AI prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Prepare an aspects register for a supplied process, assess six environmental interactions, justify significance decisions and link priority aspects to controls, monitoring and review triggers.
- Assessment criteria: Correct aspect impact and receptor linkages; Consistent evidence based significance decisions; Relevant controls responsibilities and review triggers.
- Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records assessed environmental aspects evaluation skills; regulatory impact assessment approval and specialist environmental authorisation remain separate.
- Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
