Programme Summary

Select and manage personal protective equipment as part of a wider risk control strategy. Participants connect equipment performance with the actual hazard, user, task and working conditions, then examine compatibility, fit, care and replacement. Practical examples strengthen preuse checks and reporting while recognising that specialist fit testing, respiratory programmes and equipment specific competence require additional arrangements.

02

Training Objectives

1 Connect protective equipment with assessed residual risks; 2 Select suitable compatible equipment for tasks; 3 Recognise fit condition and user limitations; 4 Plan inspection care storage and replacement; 5 Identify specialist testing and training requirements.

03

Learning Outcomes

1 Prepare a task based equipment selection record; 2 Identify compatibility and condition concerns; 3 Demonstrate a basic preuse equipment check; 4 Define care storage and replacement controls; 5 Explain specialist fit and competence requirements.

  • Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Select protective equipment for a fictional task, identify compatibility issues and demonstrate a basic preuse check on benign training items.
  • Assessment criteria: Hazard matched equipment selection; Correct condition and compatibility checks; Practical management and specialist referral.
  • Pass each component separately: 15/20 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
  • All mandatory criteria must pass: Reject damaged or unsuitable protective equipment.
  • Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.

Certification

  • Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
  • The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
  • Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
  • Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
