Programme Summary
Recognise the risks associated with stored pressure and the controls that support safe operation. Participants review system information, operating limits, protective devices and signs of deterioration using practical workplace examples. The course develops sound reporting and escalation decisions while distinguishing general awareness from the competence required to examine pressure equipment, set protective devices or authorise repairs and operation.
Training Objectives
1 Recognise stored pressure hazards and consequences; 2 Understand operating limits and protective arrangements; 3 Identify defects and unsafe operating practices; 4 Clarify maintenance examination and competent role interfaces; 5 Respond safely to suspected pressure system problems.
Learning Outcomes
1 Identify pressure hazards in workplace examples; 2 Locate essential operating limit information; 3 Recognise conditions requiring equipment withdrawal; 4 Explain examination and maintenance responsibilities; 5 Prepare a clear defect escalation report.
Target Audience
Operations Supervisors; Maintenance Coordinators; Facilities Supervisors; Safety Officers; Equipment Operators.
Target Industries
Manufacturing; Utilities; Food Processing; Industrial Facilities; Chemical Processing; Commercial Building Services.
Course Contents
- Module 1 Stored Pressure Hazards: Pressure temperature and stored energy consequences; Liquids gases steam and system boundaries; Failure modes and people at risk.
- Module 2 Safe Operating Information: Design and safe operating limits; Instructions identification and system documentation; Competent operation and authorisation requirements.
- Module 3 Protective and Maintenance Arrangements: Relief devices controls and safe discharge awareness; Inspection examination and maintenance responsibilities; Keeping protective arrangements available and unchanged.
- Module 4 Defects and Unsafe Conditions: Leaks corrosion damage and abnormal behaviour; Unsafe adjustments and bypassed protections; Stopping use and obtaining competent assistance.
- Module 5 Pressure Safety Workshop: Reviewing equipment records and defect examples; Identifying missing information and safeguards; Preparing a safe escalation recommendation.
Assessment
- 20 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 30 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Supplied reference pack and calculator permitted; external internet and AI prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (20 minutes): Review pressure equipment records and defect examples, identify missing safeguards and explain safe withdrawal from use and competent escalation requirements.
- Assessment criteria: Accurate stored energy hazard recognition; Correct interpretation of safety information; Safe defect and competence escalation.
- Pass each component separately: 15/20 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- All mandatory criteria must pass: Do not adjust or bypass protective devices.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records pressure systems safety awareness; it does not qualify inspectors, pressure equipment examiners, repairers or protective device technicians.
- Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
