Programme Summary
Develop practical adult first-aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator skills for common workplace emergencies. Demonstrations and supervised practice help participants recognise urgent conditions, summon appropriate help and provide initial assistance within their training. Individual observation focuses on safe response, effective CPR, AED use and clear handover, supported by realistic scenarios and current resuscitation guidance.
Training Objectives
1 Build confidence in safe initial emergency response; 2 Strengthen recognition of immediately life threatening conditions; 3 Develop effective adult CPR and AED skills; 4 Improve initial care for common workplace injuries; 5 Promote clear escalation and emergency service handover.
Learning Outcomes
1 Assess scene safety and summon appropriate help; 2 Recognise unresponsiveness and abnormal breathing requiring CPR; 3 Demonstrate effective adult CPR on a manikin; 4 Operate a training AED with safe clearances; 5 Demonstrate taught first aid and structured handover.
Target Audience
Workplace response volunteers; Site supervisors; Security officers; Facilities team members; Warehouse supervisors; Office response coordinators.
Target Industries
Manufacturing; Construction; Warehousing and logistics; Hospitality; Commercial offices; Retail operations.
Course Contents
- Module 1 First Aid Role and Initial Assessment: Scene safety and responder protection; Early emergency call for unresponsive adults; Structured assessment and limits of assistance.
- Module 2 Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: Recognising abnormal breathing and cardiac arrest; Compression depth rate recoil and interruptions; Rescue breaths within taught CPR sequence.
- Module 3 Automated External Defibrillator Use: Retrieving and activating the AED; Pad placement and following device prompts; Safe analysis shock clearance and CPR continuation.
- Module 4 Airway Choking and Reduced Responsiveness: Recognition and taught choking response; Airway positioning and continued observation; Recovery position indications and important exceptions.
- Module 5 Bleeding and Circulatory Emergencies: Recognising severe external bleeding; Direct pressure and taught bleeding controls; Shock recognition reassurance and urgent escalation.
- Module 6 Burns and Common Workplace Injuries: Initial cooling and safe burn protection; Suspected fractures and movement precautions; Eye injuries and chemical exposure escalation.
- Module 7 Medical Emergencies and Deterioration: Recognition of stroke and chest pain; Seizures breathing difficulty and diabetic emergencies; Monitoring changes and avoiding untrained treatment.
- Module 8 Scenario Response and Handover: Prioritising actions in combined emergency scenarios; Structured information for arriving emergency responders; Recording observations care and incident details.
Assessment
- 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Closed book; device prompts remain available during AED assessment. Internet, AI and personal notes prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (120 minutes): Demonstrate adult emergency response at individual training stations: assess safety, summon help, perform CPR, use an AED trainer, address a taught bleeding or airway scenario, and provide a structured handover.
- Assessment criteria: Prompt recognition escalation and appropriate priorities; Effective CPR and safe AED operation; Safe taught first-aid actions and clear handover.
- Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- All mandatory criteria must pass: Initiate emergency assistance and indicated CPR without avoidable delay; Meet taught CPR quality criteria and clear everyone for AED analysis and shock; Avoid unsafe airway or injury actions and remain within taught first-aid scope.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records assessed adult first-aid skills development; it is not automatically a statutory first-aider qualification, clinical registration or professional practice licence.
