Programme Summary
Plan microbiological method verification and validation around the organism, matrix and intended decision. Participants examine qualitative and quantitative performance, reference cultures, recovery, selectivity and method limitations. Laboratory cases connect study design with quality controls, uncertainty considerations and technical review, supporting defensible introduction of methods without assuming that performance transfers automatically between matrices or laboratories.
Training Objectives
1 Define microbiological method performance needs; 2 Distinguish qualitative and quantitative study designs; 3 Evaluate matrix effects and reference culture suitability; 4 Connect method studies with routine quality controls; 5 Support justified technical authorisation and change.
Learning Outcomes
1 Prepare a microbiological verification protocol; 2 Select relevant performance and acceptance criteria; 3 Interpret qualitative and enumeration study evidence; 4 Identify matrix and detection limitations; 5 Write a justified method introduction recommendation.
Target Audience
Microbiology Laboratory Analysts; Microbiology Supervisors; Method Validation Specialists; Technical Managers; Laboratory Quality Managers.
Target Industries

Assessment
- 60 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 90 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Supplied reference pack and calculator permitted; external internet and AI prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (45 minutes): Prepare a method verification protocol and interpret a supplied microbiological study, identifying whether the evidence supports the proposed matrix and organism scope.
- Assessment criteria: Appropriate qualitative or quantitative design; Relevant matrix and control selection; Defensible performance interpretation.
- Pass each component separately: 45/60 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records microbiological method study planning skills; it does not authorise biological agent work or certify competence in a specific analytical method.
- Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
