Programme Summary
Inventory and warehouse decisions must connect service commitments with stock availability, storage capacity and operating discipline. This programme explains demand signals, replenishment, inventory classification, receiving, putaway, picking, dispatch and stock accuracy. Participants analyse a small distribution case, calculate replenishment needs and identify practical improvements that protect product condition, strengthen traceability and reduce avoidable handling or stock discrepancies.
Training Objectives
1 Develop understanding of connected supply chain activities; 2 Improve inventory planning and stock control decisions; 3 Strengthen warehouse flow and location management practices; 4 Promote accurate traceability and product handling records; 5 Build practical measures for warehouse service improvement.
Learning Outcomes
1 Classify inventory using supplied value and demand data; 2 Calculate reorder points using stated planning assumptions; 3 Design a basic receiving and putaway workflow; 4 Investigate stock discrepancies using transaction evidence; 5 Recommend warehouse improvements with measurable service indicators.

Assessment
- 60 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 90 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Closed book; calculator permitted where relevant. Internet and AI assistance prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (45 minutes): Using supplied stock and demand data, classify selected items, calculate reorder points under stated assumptions and investigate a stock variance. Submit three justified warehouse improvements with measures and responsible roles.
- Assessment criteria: Accuracy of inventory calculations and assumptions; Traceability of stock discrepancy analysis; Feasibility and safety of warehouse improvements.
- Pass each component separately: 45/60 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- All mandatory criteria must pass: Do not recommend storage or handling arrangements that obstruct emergency access.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
