Programme Summary

Prevent avoidable errors by redesigning tasks and controls before defects occur. Participants examine how mistakes arise at critical process steps and select practical prevention or immediate detection mechanisms. Case exercises compare physical constraints, sequencing, verification and visual cues, producing a proportionate solution with clear failure response and validation criteria rather than relying only on reminders or retraining.

02

Training Objectives

1 Recognise process conditions that invite errors; 2 Distinguish prevention from downstream defect detection; 3 Select practical error proofing mechanisms; 4 Verify controls under realistic failure conditions; 5 Integrate ownership and reaction plans into use.

03

Learning Outcomes

1 Identify a critical error opportunity; 2 Select a suitable error prevention mechanism; 3 Define a control challenge test; 4 Specify the response when protection fails; 5 Present a justified mistake proofing proposal.

04

Target Audience

Quality Engineers; Process Engineers; Quality Managers; Production Supervisors; Continuous Improvement Specialists.

05

Target Industries

Automotive Manufacturing; Electronics Manufacturing; Industrial Equipment Manufacturing; Medical Device Manufacturing; Consumer Goods Manufacturing; Industrial Services.

06

Course Contents

  • Module 1 Understanding Process Errors: Human limitations and process design influences; Error opportunities and defect consequences; Prevention detection and correction distinctions.
  • Module 2 Selecting Error Proofing Controls: Physical constraints and sequence controls; Presence orientation and completeness checks; Visual cues and their practical limitations.
  • Module 3 Designing Reliable Solutions: Control location and response timing; Safe failure and bypass prevention; Usability maintenance and operating conditions.
  • Module 4 Testing and Sustaining Controls: Challenge tests and acceptance criteria; Routine verification and owner responsibilities; Reaction plans when protection is unavailable.
  • Module 5 Error Prevention Workshop: Analysing a recurring process error; Comparing prevention and detection options; Presenting a verified control proposal.
07

Assessment

  • 20 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
  • 30 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
  • Supplied reference pack and calculator permitted; external internet and AI prohibited.
  • Individual applied assessment (20 minutes): Analyse a recurring error case, propose a prevention mechanism and define challenge testing, ownership and failure response.
  • Assessment criteria: Correct error mechanism identification; Suitable reliable prevention design; Practical verification and failure response.
  • Pass each component separately: 15/20 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
  • Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
08

Certification

  • Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
  • The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
  • Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
  • Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
  • Records mistake proofing design principles; engineered changes require competent technical and safety approval.
  • Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
