Programme Summary
This programme helps teams resolve recurring quality and operational problems through disciplined investigation and effective action. Participants distinguish immediate correction from causal analysis, corrective action and proactive prevention, then practise selecting tools that fit the evidence. A realistic case develops a defensible cause-to-action chain and effectiveness check, supporting stronger problem resolution without defaulting to blame, retraining or unsupported root-cause assumptions.
Training Objectives
1 Strengthen structured investigation of recurring operational problems; 2 Differentiate correction corrective action and proactive prevention; 3 Develop evidence based cause analysis skills; 4 Connect actions with verified causal mechanisms; 5 Improve effectiveness review and recurrence prevention.
Learning Outcomes
1 Write a precise evidence supported problem statement; 2 Construct and test a credible causal explanation; 3 Select actions addressing causes and systemic weaknesses; 4 Define accountable implementation and effectiveness review arrangements; 5 Produce a concise traceable corrective action record.
Target Audience
Quality Managers; Quality Engineers; Operations Supervisors; Corrective Action Coordinators; Customer Complaint Investigators; Process Improvement Specialists.
Target Industries
Manufacturing; Food Processing; Construction; Logistics; Healthcare Support Services; Technical Services.
Course Contents
- Module 1 Problem Resolution and Action Terminology: Correction containment and corrective action; Proactive prevention and risk-based thinking; Sector-specific CAPA terminology and expectations.
- Module 2 Defining and Containing the Problem: Clear problem boundaries and factual descriptions; Immediate containment and affected-output review; Data needs and investigation responsibilities.
- Module 3 Collecting and Organising Evidence: Event timelines and process reconstruction; Data stratification and comparison groups; Evidence reliability and assumption management.
- Module 4 Exploring Potential Causes: Cause-and-effect analysis and structured questioning; Five Whys with evidence checks; Change analysis and barrier weaknesses.
- Module 5 Verifying Causal Explanations: Distinguishing symptoms causes and contributing factors; Testing hypotheses against available evidence; Identifying systemic and escape mechanisms.
- Module 6 Selecting and Implementing Actions: Actions linked to verified causes; Feasibility risk and unintended consequences; Ownership milestones and implementation evidence.
- Module 7 Checking Effectiveness and Preventing Recurrence: Outcome measures and review periods; Recurrence monitoring and control integration; Extending learning to comparable processes.
- Module 8 Applied Investigation and Reporting: Case investigation and causal justification; Corrective action record and review plan; Clear communication of findings and limitations.
Assessment
- 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Supplied tool templates and a basic calculator permitted; internet, messaging and AI tools prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Investigate the supplied recurring-defect case, write a bounded problem statement, substantiate a causal chain and develop two corrective actions with owners, completion evidence and an effectiveness verification plan.
- Assessment criteria: Clear factual problem definition and supported causal reasoning; Actions that address causes rather than symptoms; Measurable effectiveness criteria and realistic review arrangements.
- Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records assessed problem-solving and corrective-action training; it does not establish competence for every regulated CAPA system or incident-investigation discipline.
- Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
