Programme Summary
This programme develops practical confidence in using the seven basic quality tools to understand variation, prioritise problems and investigate possible causes. Participants work with simple operational datasets to construct and interpret each tool, then combine them into a logical problem-solving sequence. Exercises emphasise appropriate data selection, clear visual communication and evidence limits, helping teams replace unsupported opinions with useful analysis.
Training Objectives
1 Develop practical familiarity with seven quality tools; 2 Improve operational data collection and interpretation; 3 Strengthen evidence based problem prioritisation; 4 Connect analytical tools with suitable investigation questions; 5 Improve clear communication of analytical findings.
Learning Outcomes
1 Design a usable operational data check sheet; 2 Construct Pareto histogram and scatter displays; 3 Develop a structured cause-and-effect diagram; 4 Interpret control-chart signals and stratified datasets; 5 Select complementary tools for a defined problem.
Target Audience
Quality Technicians; Production Supervisors; Process Improvement Team Members; Operations Analysts; Customer Service Supervisors; Quality Engineers.
Target Industries
Manufacturing; Food Processing; Warehousing; Healthcare Administration; Retail Operations; Service Centres.
Course Contents
- Module 1 Tool Selection and Problem Context: Problem definition and process understanding; Data types and operational definitions; Choosing tools for investigation questions.
- Module 2 Check Sheets: Clear categories and collection instructions; Consistent counting and data completeness; Converting records into usable analysis.
- Module 3 Pareto Analysis: Category totals and cumulative percentages; Frequency cost and impact prioritisation; Avoiding misleading category and scale choices.
- Module 4 Histograms: Distribution shape spread and location; Appropriate intervals and sample representation; Comparing patterns with process context.
- Module 5 Cause and Effect Diagrams: Structured brainstorming and cause categories; Linking potential causes to process stages; Separating hypotheses from verified causes.
- Module 6 Scatter Diagrams: Paired data and relationship patterns; Outliers stratification and hidden influences; Correlation limits and causal caution.
- Module 7 Control Charts: Time order and process variation; Control limits versus specification limits; Signals and appropriate reaction decisions.
- Module 8 Stratification and Combined Tool Application: Separating data by relevant factors; Comparing shifts suppliers and product groups; Building a coherent multi-tool investigation.
Assessment
- 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
- 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
- Supplied formula sheet and a basic calculator permitted; internet, messaging and AI tools prohibited.
- Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Use a supplied defect dataset to create a check-sheet structure, Pareto chart and stratified comparison, then propose a cause-and-effect investigation and explain which conclusions the available data can support.
- Assessment criteria: Accurate data organisation and chart construction; Appropriate interpretation without unsupported causal claims; Logical tool selection and actionable investigation priorities.
- Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
- Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
Certification
- Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
- The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
- Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
- Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
- Records assessed practical quality tool skills; it does not establish advanced statistical analysis competence or independent personnel certification.
- Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
