Programme Summary

Create reliable work methods and balance tasks around customer demand and safe operating capacity. Participants observe work, distinguish manual and machine time and identify uneven loading across a process. Practical exercises develop clear work sequences, visual standards and balanced assignments, while preserving quality checkpoints, ergonomic limits and the ability to respond constructively when demand or operating conditions change.

02

Training Objectives

1 Connect standard work with predictable performance; 2 Measure work content and demand consistently; 3 Identify workload imbalance and operational constraints; 4 Develop safe clear repeatable work methods; 5 Establish review ownership and improvement routines.

03

Learning Outcomes

1 Calculate takt time from stated demand; 2 Create a work element observation record; 3 Prepare a balanced task assignment; 4 Draft a usable standard work instruction; 5 Define review triggers and performance checks.

04

Target Audience

Production Supervisors; Industrial Engineers; Team Leaders; Process Improvement Specialists; Service Operations Supervisors.

05

Target Industries

Automotive Manufacturing; Electronics Manufacturing; Industrial Equipment Manufacturing; Medical Device Manufacturing; Consumer Goods Manufacturing; Industrial Services.

06

Course Contents

  • Module 1 Standard Work Purpose: Best known method and improvement baseline; Safety quality and customer demand links; Standard work versus inflexible compliance.
  • Module 2 Measuring Work Content: Work elements and observation methods; Manual machine walk and waiting time; Representative conditions and operator involvement.
  • Module 3 Demand and Takt: Available time and customer demand; Takt cycle time and capacity distinctions; Demand variability and practical limitations.
  • Module 4 Workload Balancing: Work distribution and bottleneck recognition; Task precedence and skill constraints; Balanced assignments and ergonomic considerations.
  • Module 5 Work Sequence Design: Repeatable steps and key quality points; Standard work in process and handoffs; Error prevention and abnormality escalation.
  • Module 6 Visual Work Standards: Clear instructions and visual references; Critical checks limits and decision points; Document control and accessible presentation.
  • Module 7 Training and Review: Demonstration practice and competence checks; Daily observation and improvement feedback; Changes to demand products or equipment.
  • Module 8 Standard Work Workshop: Calculating demand and balancing tasks; Drafting an operational work standard; Presenting safe improvement and review arrangements.
07

Assessment

  • 40 single best answer questions, including applied scenarios; one mark per question.
  • 60 minute invigilated digital examination with identity verification. Approved accessibility adjustments preserve the assessed competence.
  • Supplied reference pack and calculator permitted; external internet and AI prohibited.
  • Individual applied assessment (30 minutes): Use supplied work timing data to balance tasks and prepare a standard work instruction with quality, safety and review controls.
  • Assessment criteria: Correct demand and workload calculations; Feasible safe work allocation; Clear usable standard and control points.
  • Pass each component separately: 30/40 written marks (75%) and at least 70% on the applied task.
  • Individual results and feedback are provided. One reassessment may follow coaching under the published enrolment terms.
08

Certification

  • Successful learners receive a TQCSI Arabia digital Certificate of Successful Completion.
  • The certificate records the learner name, exact programme title, teaching hours, completion date and unique verification reference.
  • Verified identity, full attendance and separate written and applied passes are required; all mandatory critical criteria must be met.
  • Proposed issue target: within 30 calendar days of approved results and settlement of applicable fees.
  • Records standard work and balancing skills; work design changes require operational, ergonomic and safety review.
  • Attendance confirmation may record completed hours for unsuccessful learners; it does not certify successful completion.
