Submit a Market Access EnquiryCountry Overview
The Arab Republic of Egypt is a republic with Arabic as its official language. World Bank indicators report approximately 118.4 million residents and nominal GDP of US$365.3 billion for 2025. Its domestic market and industrial base support food, pharmaceuticals, engineering, consumer goods, construction, logistics and business services.
Egypt Vision 2030, investment legislation, GAFI investor services and the Suez Canal Economic Zone support industrial and private investment. Opportunities should be assessed alongside sector licensing, local distribution, customs procedures, payment arrangements and product-registration requirements. Domestic-market size alone does not establish a commercially accessible opportunity.
For manufacturers and service providers, Egypt combines substantial local demand with industrial clusters and international transport connections. Entry planning should connect the legal entity, importer/exporter eligibility, product approvals and advance cargo information. Selected national projects below provide commercial context without implying current tender availability or guaranteed incentives.

Our Market Access Services
Explore the requirements, responsible authorities, practical steps and support relevant to each service area.
Product Registration & Regulatory Approvals
Identify applicable standards, sector approvals and manufacturer-registration conditions.
- Key Requirements
Mandatory Egyptian standards, safety, labeling and product-specific controls must be checked. GOEIC registration under Decree 43/2016, as amended, applies to specified factories/companies or trademark-related routes and covered goods—not every product imported into Egypt.
- Competent Authorities
Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality (EOS); General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC); National Food Safety Authority (NFSA); Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA); and National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA).
- Applicable Approvals, Licences & Marks
Applicable manufacturer or brand-related registration, conformity evidence, food/medical product approvals, NTRA type approval and commodity-specific permissions. Requirements depend on the regulated product list.
- Practical Route
- Classify the product
- Check mandatory standards and GOEIC registration coverage
- Establish applicant/importer and manufacturer prerequisites
- Prepare technical, label and registration documents
- Obtain sector approvals before the relevant import stage
- How TQCSI Arabia Supports You
We map the applicable route, review factory and product documentation, coordinate accepted testing and support administrative registration requirements with the relevant authorities.
- Typical Deliverable
A product and manufacturer-registration matrix with document requirements.
Service Licensing & Operating Approvals
Prepare for activity-specific licensing and operational conditions.
- Key Requirements
Commercial registration does not replace sector approval. Healthcare, financial, telecommunications, tourism, professional and industrial activities may require qualifications, facility approvals and environmental or safety permissions.
- Competent Authorities
Relevant sector ministries and regulators; competent local authorities; GAFI investor service centres; and industrial authorities where the activity involves industrial operations.
- Applicable Approvals, Licences & Marks
Applicable commercial/professional activity licences, premises approvals, industrial permissions where relevant, and sector operating authorizations.
- Practical Route
- Define the service and operating location
- Identify the responsible licensing authority
- Establish entity and professional eligibility
- Obtain facility and sector permissions
- Maintain operating conditions and renewals
- How TQCSI Arabia Supports You
We prepare service-specific licensing matrices, check evidence completeness and coordinate with authorized local advisers for professional, industrial and sector submissions.
- Typical Deliverable
A service-licensing roadmap and outstanding-document register.
Business Registration & Establishment Support
Connect incorporation with tax, employment and operational compliance.
- Key Requirements
The appropriate company or investment-law route, ownership conditions, commercial registration, tax obligations and employment requirements must be assessed. Incorporation does not automatically authorize a regulated activity or facility.
- Competent Authorities
General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI); commercial-registration authorities; Egyptian Tax Authority; employment/social-insurance authorities; and relevant sector or zone regulators.
- Applicable Approvals, Licences & Marks
Incorporation and commercial records, applicable investment/free-zone approvals, tax and employment registrations, and the licences required for the actual operations.
- Practical Route
- Select the structure and investment regime
- Verify activity and ownership conditions
- Complete incorporation and registration
- Obtain applicable tax and employment registrations
- Secure facility and sector permissions
- How TQCSI Arabia Supports You
We organize registration requirements, review document readiness and coordinate with licensed Egyptian legal, incorporation and tax professionals. We track entity formation separately from operational licensing.
- Typical Deliverable
An establishment compliance checklist and registration-status tracker.
Import Compliance & Shipment Readiness
Coordinate importer eligibility, product registrations and advance cargo data.
- Key Requirements
Importer-register requirements, applicable GOEIC and sector registrations and customs documentation must be addressed before shipment. Nafeza Advance Cargo Information (ACI) requires the relevant advance filing and ACID number where applicable; air-cargo ACI became mandatory from 1 January 2026 under the published implementation notice.
- Competent Authorities
Egyptian Customs; GOEIC; NFSA; EDA; other product regulators; and the Nafeza trade platform.
- Applicable Approvals, Licences & Marks
Applicable importer registration, factory/product approvals, ACI/ACID records, controlled-goods permits and customs/sector release documents.
- Practical Route
- Confirm importer and product eligibility
- Establish the applicable ACI route
- Complete advance data and obtain the required ACID
- Reconcile exporter, invoice and transport data before shipment
- Complete customs and sector clearance
- How TQCSI Arabia Supports You
We check advance-cargo readiness, review consistency across documents and coordinate missing GOEIC or sector evidence. We do not replace the importer, carrier or customs broker in their filing responsibilities.
- Typical Deliverable
An ACI/ACID readiness checklist and reconciled shipment-document index.
Export Compliance & Destination Requirements
Prepare exporter eligibility and destination-market evidence.
- Key Requirements
Exporter registration applies where prescribed, alongside exportability checks, origin conditions and destination requirements. Food, agricultural and other controlled goods may require additional inspection, health or phytosanitary documents.
- Competent Authorities
GOEIC; Egyptian Customs; NFSA; relevant agricultural/product authorities; competent origin-certification bodies; and destination regulators.
- Applicable Approvals, Licences & Marks
Applicable exporter registration, export declaration, origin evidence, sector export permissions and destination conformity or health certificates.
- Practical Route
- Confirm exporter and commodity eligibility
- Determine destination requirements
- Prepare origin and product evidence
- Obtain required certificates
- Complete customs and shipping documentation
- How TQCSI Arabia Supports You
We develop export requirement matrices, review technical and commercial records and coordinate applicable testing, inspections or certificates through accepted providers.
- Typical Deliverable
A destination-compliance matrix and exporter/shipment checklist.
Certification, Inspection & Testing Body Recognition
Assess accreditation scope and programme recognition separately.
- Key Requirements
Accreditation must match the conformity-assessment activity and technical scope. Regulator or programme acceptance may be additional to accreditation; a general accreditation certificate does not establish approval for every Egyptian product-control programme.
- Competent Authorities
Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC); relevant sector regulators; and the competent programme or scheme owner.
- Applicable Approvals, Licences & Marks
Applicable business authorization, EGAC or other accepted scope-specific accreditation and any additional registration or programme appointment required by the regulator.
- Practical Route
- Define the intended activity and scope
- Confirm accepted accreditation and operating permissions
- Compile existing evidence
- Obtain applicable programme recognition
- Maintain scope, reporting and surveillance conditions
- How TQCSI Arabia Supports You
We interpret published recognition requirements, compare existing scope evidence and coordinate administrative submissions. Our support excludes prohibited management-system implementation and influence over accreditation decisions.
- Typical Deliverable
A scope/recognition requirements matrix and administrative dossier.
